Steve Perry (SP) was a very enthusiastic supporter of the Forum and his tragic death is a real blow to our community. Our most sincere condolences go to his family.

SP joined the Forum in 2016 and was a regular contributor to discussions here, and he also often exchanged PMs with me as he worked to support our hobby. Just recently SP mailed two reference disk CDs to me, containing reference files and archive articles from Aerodrome Modeler, as he wished to help our Nostalgia Board with a flow of classic articles.

SP will be truly missed and we have lost one of our best.

Blue Skies to you SP.

I am so deeply saddened by this news. SP was and shall always remain such a real Gentleman and I will miss his presence here on the Forum. We corresponded on line on a few occasions and he recently "gifted" me an old Aircraft in Profile publication on a USN "Yellow Wings" subject we had exchanged notes on...... I will treasure it the more now. My sincere condolences to his Family, and from an old airframe driver, "Blue Skies SP, and keep the power up in the turns" ........

Shocked to hear that..

Steve sold me his Ardpol 1/72 DH9 a few weeks back. He went to great trouble to post it to me.

I am deeply saddened at this news.  Steve and I had corresponded a good deal this past summer, as he was enthusiastically embracing paper modeling and we shared a good deal of information since I was new to that genre also.  Steve's build logs were very helpful in the learning process.  I am glad at least that he was able to build Matt77's Aviatik Berg D.I paper repaint that he so liked, and post it here.  He was also very excited about my directing him to a 1/33 I'lya Muromets paper kit, which he was looking forward to building, as he loved that aircraft.

Steve's enthusiastic participation on the forum, great sense of humor and passion for modeling will be missed here.

Best,

Bob

What sad news! I got to know him as a friendly colleague this year through discussions in my build reports, among other things, and can still remember his projects well.
According to his profile, he was only 68 years old, much too early!
Blue skies Steve!

That's terrible news! I just got to know him here recently through my FE8 build and found out he lived in the same area I did when I lived in Florida. He seemed a very genuine and friendly guy. I will certainly miss him. My sincere condolences to his family from an ex Crystal River guy.

I personally owe Steve a great debt: his article about accurizing the old Testor's Nieuport kit years ago in Internet Modeller got me back into building WW1 aircraft.

Very sad to read this after being away from modelling for several months. SP was a wonderful, supportive and enthusiastic member.

Rest in peace.

Apologies, late to posting on this thread, but not the news. I heard of Steve's passing not long after it occurred. Steve was one of my first online modeling acquaintances in the late 90's on the old WWI Modeling List. What a great and generous man. Our world is a lesser place for his passing.
