Title: Aerocraft Models DR1 Struts for the Meng Kit.

I just saw this on FB. Brass struts for the Meng kit.

PS: Not exactly cheap @ 18 pounds. ( $23.45 US Dollars)

Not sure why these are required? There was no issue of weak struts of the test shots that were built at WNW.

To me, these fit into the category of the SAC Landing Gear... Not a requirement. I would rather spend the 18 pounds on some Decals which is sorely needed.

I tend to agree that they aren't necessary  ;D I posted just so others who might be interested would have a heads up. It is nice to know that if one clumsily breaks a strut there is a sturdy "brass" replacement  ::)

He's well into his replacement build, I'm not sure what scheme he's planning this time. To his credit he jumped straight into it!

I haven't got my kit yet... but from what I have heard the plastic is softer compared to WNW.

In all fairness to the kit Gary  Did Drop his DR1 and from what he said there was also something Heavy that landed on top of it  :( That being said Ray Rimell broke a cabane on his F1 build while attempting to tighten things( I am assuming rigging). I am nearing the point of mounting the wings so will know from first hand experience soon. As for the plastic, it is certainly different  ::)

So My personal experience is ...Yes the struts can be broken if one is not careful!
