Title: British Roundel Question
Post by: fredjocko on August 29, 2020, 12:54:32 AM
I think I'm getting close to understanding this, I probably should have paid more attention in geometry or maybe algebra 2... If I understand this correctly, using the ratio 1-3-5 for a WWI roundel and the roundel is the diameter is 78mm, the dimensions would be 15.6-46.8-78 (16-47-78)? I'm presuming the red is the one, the white is the 3, and the blue is the 5

I believe so, yes.

Sounds correct!

If you're planning to make masks or your own decals, I would suggest doing some more maths based on inches. I usually assume that the British went for an even number of inches. Sometimes that produces better figures, apart from possibly being more correct.

In this case, assuming it 1/32 scale, it doesn't really make a difference though.
