Title: Airfix 1910 B Type Omnibus 1:32
Post by: Ian from Doncaster on August 03, 2020, 04:13:13 AM
Picked up this kit from the shop at Old Warden during an event there about 4-5 years ago - sadly just too windy for the WW1 aircraft and replicas to fly.

The kit is a newish box but looks to be an old tooling.  Poor quality plastic and lots of issues such as flash and ejector pin marks - even part numbers embossed on some parts.  Apart from a few on the side panels, this kit isn’t worth the effort of removing all the defects.  That can be done, but I would rather put the extra effort into a better kit

Still, it’s turning into a passable model as a shelf-sitter rather than a close up photo shoot.  You could call it a polished turd.

Anyway, much of the structure is done apart from touch up and finishing, the upper seats, rear end stairs, wheels and a few peripherals.  Still quite a bit of work to do..

At least it looks good from a distance.
I have heard about the poor quality of this kit.

That kit was originally released in the early 1960's! However turd or not, you are certainly making a very passable model from it.

Stephen.

Well Ian:
It looks mighty good.  I recently purchased this in the "Old BIll" Scheme.  I think it will look good in the background in a diorama with a 1/32nd WWI Airplane and a figure.  Looks like I might have my work cut out for me.
