Voss' famous triplane, with his autographed Sanke card.
I tried to emulate the oil stains seen photos of this aircraft.

...and a couple more shots

Beautifully Done. It looks as though you have used Aviattic decals for the basic scheme? If so very convincing and I Love the added oil stains! I also note some very Nice details added to your buid! Very Well Done!!

Thanks for the feedback -- yes, Aviattic decals, though I added some more streaking over the decals to match the precise streaking pattern (using photos) on Voss' machine.

Nice work! Any advice or tips with the Aviattic decals? I've used them plenty of times for wings but not to cover an entire model and have a set en route!

excellent!

Hello Kreston,
As you prepare to cover your model with Aviattic's Fokker triplane decals, take some time to test a few strips.
For Voss' machine: After a grey primer, I painted the model with Tamiya's AS-5 (Luftwaffe light blue), then I added a mix of light blue and grey streaks over that. Cover all that with gloss of course. Then apply your decals (with just a little bit of micro set over them to help them adhere over curves...not too much!)
Give the decals a day to dry. I used acrylic paint to brush a few more streaks over the decal here and there, trying to get colors and streak patterns to match what I think is correct (with colors of course, this is up to debate, but a bluish/greyish hue over the green is what is usually described for Voss' triplane). Then after another day of drying I sprayed it all with Testor's Lusterless flat. Then I brushed Vallejo's Satin Varnish over everything, giving it a semi-glass, streaky, not too perfect finish (again, trying to mimic those photos).
Good luck with your model -- let me know if I can help with any advice!
Best wishes,
Jason

Ditto all the above !

Jason, thanks for the tips. I will be doing a MvR triplane 127/17 with combination red and the green streaking.

Wow! That is so realistic that I could be mistaken into believing that they were photos of the real aeroplane!

Thanks, Stephen! Kreston, please post pics when you're done with 127/17 -- looking forward!

Wonderful, I was wondering how you achieved such a superb streaking effect. Thanks for sharing your brilliant model and method.

Hi Jason,
Very, very nice!
Have you considered a figure of Voss to go with it?

Exceptionally well done model. I really like your weathering touches, and how you tweaked your streaked pattern to achieve a very convincing look.
