So I am calling the 43 Squadron Camel Done although I will add the serial number later once I receive the Masks. I must admit that this is not My Best work on a WNW kit. It has become one of My Favorites though. The reason is that this build more than any other I have done shows the Spirit of Our Community! It Takes a whole Villiage to Build a Camel ;) Thanks to Bob von Buckles, AKA the Mask Master, Gene, FAF, and Many others who offered their assistance! A few of the things I am pleased with are the Figure, the rigging of that Acorn and the Complete loss Oil Staining on the undersides 8)

PS: The Photos showed me I forgot to add the rigging from the lower wing to the gear legs :o

RAGIII,
Very nice and fully inspiring, as all your builds are.

Great lessons learned for future builds, Rick.
I just like it!
The tufted grass really looks the part, too.
-
Another thing I think you should be happy with is the inspiration you've given to the rest of us. It might be difficult for you to see/feel that, but in my case it made me give figure painting a go and your finished build also shows me the importance of a good base!
Great job, simply put!

Brilliant, I agree with Frederik about the inspiration you've given too.
Love the way you've displayed it, sets it off perfectly. Looking forward to the vic of Spads now. :)
-
That is truly one of your better builds Rick, whatever you may think. The oil stains are as good as any that I have seen on a model, and the figure is a work of art on its own - it really adds to the model. The dented oil drum is also a nice touch.
Congratulations on another first class build and an interesting and informative build log.
Stephen.

Thanks Guys, Greatly appreciated! I have alwasy said that if My Build Logs inspires others then I have achieved My Purpose in Posting!

Rich , outstanding work on this one , like the oil staining on the underside :)
The figuer is also really well done , he does look good standing next to his kite . Did you make the base ? That grass really looks the part .

It’s a wonderful vignette, Rick. Plane, figure and base all look Fantastic!
Best regards

Excellent Camel Rick! ;)
It's been a pleasure following your progress.
Well done!!

Oweeeeee. That's one stunning scene.

Nice Camel. Fine presentation. I envy those who are brave enough to add figures. They truly make the models more lifelike.
-
Thanks to all for your comments. The grass is a simple Mat purchased as is and cut to fit My needs. It was meant more as a photographic enhancement for the figure and Camel rather than a Diorama/Vignette! I do like the outcome!

I couldn't resist adding this one:

Another masterpiece Rick, congratulations on another beauty.
-
You are right to like the figure, Sir. Very well done, especially if you have not done many before.
Those 'acorn' things in the cabane rigging are a horror to deal with. The disregard of designers for future modelers is disgraceful....

Thanks Old Man! I have done a fair amount of figures but have Never been a Master :o I do like the results of this one... as long as I don't use Macro Photography 8) Yes they really should have thought of the Modeling challenges presented by that Acorn!

This is a great Camel! I would be happy if I could achieve such a result with my Camel (Eduard 1/48).
I also like the figure, and both together on the b/w picture! :)
It looks like you found with this build back to your mojo, and that is the most important thing with hour hobby: have fun with the builds!
I will read through your build report, since I have not yet read all (sorry, had not enough time).
Cheers,
Frank

Very nicely done Rick, and the display set up as well. I marvel at how you maintain your quality and still produce these results in such short times!

Hope you get those masks soon 8)

What a beauty! :)
Was this a Boulton and Paul built Camel? IIRC the USAS kit came with strut decals and some serial numbers in that particular style, though I'll need to have a look to confirm.

Thanks for the comment! I have to admit that I am not sure as to the Manufacturer. I just matched as many details to the Model as I could from the photos 8) I have added the serial number using the mask Bob supplied although I chickened out of the white outlining...It does match two of the profile drawings ::) If you find the numbers can be matched from the USAS kit let Me know.

Just had a look, it has F1430 as a serial number. Not all that useful I'm afraid!
