I have two books on GC12, the Storks. One is by Norman Franks and Frank Bailey, the other is the Osprey elite Unit series by Jon Guttman. Both mention a period where SPA 3 used "Green" numbers instead of the normal red. In the Franks and Bailey book Guynemers SPAD XIII S 504 is drawn as having green numbers. In the second book by Guttman it is the normal red. Hobbycraft obviously based their 1/32nd kit markings on the former and supplied green numbers. So does anyone have any thoughts or definitive answers?

Thanks Richard. So far what I have gathered is the green numbers were "ordered" during the summer of 1917. SPAD XIII S 504 was received in August and served until Guynemers death in September. So if the green numbers were indeed used then it is "Possible" that it flew first with green then was changed to red after the orders were reversed. Sketchy info at best so far.
