I found the same/very comparable picture in the book "French Aircraft of the First World War". Its called Vendôme experimental monoplane, but no more info.
A drawing or other pictures would be nice ???

Interesting! Similar to so many French planes of the period. But those wheels... One does wonder if anyone ended up looking in vain for their bicycle when they stopped work that day.
There seems to have been a designer by the name of Raoul Vendôme, probably the man responsible here. Wikipedia lists a biplane of his from 1909.
Here's a little bit about him, at www.earlyaviators.com/evendome.htm . Really very little but there are some pics of other aircraft of his.
At a tangent, there's a curious machine from 1916 called the Vendôme A3 with a layout somewhat like the Salmson-Moineau plane, but Raoul may have had nothing to do with that one.

There was also an image here: https://flyingmachines.ru/Site2/Crafts/Craft25748.htm (https://flyingmachines.ru/Site2/Crafts/Craft25748.htm) identifying it as a 1912 Vendome Militaire
This aeroplane appears to have the large wheels too:

Thank you very much Mark and Richard!
I found some of his birds in this wikipedia list, but none of them with articles, only red links.

gettyimages has even more pictures, if you look for Raoul Vendôme.
Thanks!

Frank
