Hello to you all from Scotland.
I am a new comer to the world of WW1 aviation modelling having been hooked by the wonders from Wingnut Wings (like so many others I suspect). I have a few of the WnW kits in my stash but am still working up the courage to cut the first WnW plastic and am hoping that by joining in here I will find the encouragement to get cracking. I am not a stranger to aircraft modelling though and have actually spent the last year building various biplane kits to get some experience before tackling the big ones. A post War Snipe is my ultimate aim but would really like to have a go at so many more of them.
When not modelling I like to play the guitar, ride motorbikes and eat good food. I am a keen armchair fan of Football (soccer) and do take in the occasional game 'in the flesh' but prefer to watch them from the comfort of the Pub nowadays.

Hello Duncan,
Welcome to the forum!
I recently bought a couple of Pfalz DIIIa from you. Excellent service, Sir!
You won't find a more welcoming place than this when it comes to all things WW1.
I have owned over 10 motorbikes in my time, mainly BMW adventure off road tractors and have toured the beautiful Highlands many times. It never gets old.
Watch football too! Tottenham Hotspur F.C. being my lifelong team. So, basically, I've been a frustrated fan for many a year. ::)
Good luck with your first Wingnut. ;) Be sure to share your progress with us.
Cheers,
Bob von Buckle 8)

Hi Duncan, good to see you here, they're a helpful and friendly bunch and a bottomless fund of advice and knowledge. Plenty of space for non-WWI stuff in the off-topic boards too.
See you at Perth in April!

Welcome to our Forum Duncan, I know it will grow on you! I'm not a bike fan and given the preferences imposed by Canadian birth Ice Hockey is my game of choice. I do have a great admiration of your fair land though, did a 15 day vacation there several years back in a rented vehicle from Skye to the Spey and pretty well every where between, loved every minute and would return in a heartbeat! Oh, and your beer is superb as well as the whisky!!
You'll find all the help, encouragement, and advice you need to get going in the WW.I Aircraft niche here, enjoy!
Cheers,
Lance

Welcome to the Forum Duncan! I hope you enjoy being a welcome part of our global community of WW1 model enthusiasts. I hope there's plenty here to encourage your interest in WW1 subjects and our off topic boards cover every other subject imaginable.
Feel free to use the forum to promote your shop too. We love model shops here!!
Good luck with the Wingnuts kits but don't forget the other excellent WW1 models to be had from Roden, Special Hobby and Copper State Models and in 1/48th and 1/72 scale scale the range is enormous.
So welcome to you in Scotland from the sunny climes of the Gold Coast in Australia ( with ancestry directly connected to Scotland via NZ!)
cheers

:o !!!
I was told I'd be thrown out of a Burn's Night if I brought a bottle of whiskey with me*.
Much as I like what the Irish produce, Scots insist you drink whisky

Hello Duncan,
I think we’ve chatted at model shows before. Wingnut’s are a lure into WW1!
I’ve got a season ticket with my son at Brighton - bit of a mixed bag!
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Don’t be shy of a work in progress thread ;D

Lovely looking selection there, von Tippler! I haven't had the pleasure of sampling the Tamnavulin but a good Speyside is my panacea of choice! The thrill of entering a Whisky Shop for the first time many years ago on a trip to Lossiemouth is still there ........ a child let loose in a candy store comes to mind! God willing I'll get to visit again some year.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks everyone for the very warm welcome, I can see I'm going to like it here. I have been browsing through some of your builds already and the standard is very high indeed. Lots of useful tips too and those have led me to go and spend some money on some bits and pieces that I will need.

Keep an eye out for my local tipple - Glen Turret - crafted in the oldest distillery in Scotland, less than two miles from my workbench here in Crieff. Nectar of the Gods!

Hey Duncan, tell them of the discounts you are offering on the Meng Triplane and you'll need to increase your factory order.
.... or just look at the Black Mike Models website, guys...
