Title: Udet DVII, not "Du Doch..."
Post by: oldalbie on December 04, 2019, 06:10:27 AM
I'm trying to find out if one of Udet's DVII with the usual "LO" insignia has an early "dropped" exhaust.  The only reference I have for this a/c is a vague photo from the Franks/Wyngarden  Osprey "Fokker DVII Aces, part 1."  According to the book, it's an OAW product, but I haven't found any other photos of this a/c.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have intended to look into your request for a while and apologize for the delay. If I am reading your question correctly I you are referring to the OAW DVII in 4 color lozenge on page 26. If so then yes, an early OAW built DVII with the downward exhaust. There are at least two photos of this one and a profile in Ospreys' Richthofen's Circus by GvW. If you are seeking info on another let me know.

Thanks Rag III, that's what I thought.
