Time to start another WW 2 subject and picked this one to have a go at . It is a very nicely detail kit so I won't be added any detail to her . Sorry folks but she is out of the box .

You're a modeling machine Terri. How big is your modelling room.... ;D ;D ;D

Nice subject, are you going to build the pictured version, with the cannon gondola?

I have always liked the 210 and 410 Terri so I will follow your build closely!
RAGIII
-
Nice variation of subject Terri - and another of the less well known types which makes it all the more attractive.
-
Thanks for the interest in one of my next adventure guys . Progress still to come ..and yes will be doing the kit makings :)
Terri
-
Made a start on cleaning the cockpit parts and got some subassembly ready to go for paint . I should be able to start spraying paint tomorrow on these parts .
-
Awesome Terri! Looking forward to the painting and assembly of the interior!
RAGIII
-
thanks Rick , I did get the base colour on and now there is a lot of detail painting . Unlike their 48 scale mustang this kit is pack with detail , I'm impressed and so far the fit is excellent . Will have some pic's up later today on what has been done .
Terri
-
Okay , didn't get much detail painting as I wanted . But I did make a start with the padding/headrest
-
You have to start somewhere 8) Looks great T!
RAGIII
-
Way cool. I'll be watching with interest. My Dad flew these (without the big gun). There are some new books out on the Me 210/410s that are pretty interesting.

Thanks guys ! 8)
Made some more progress on the detail painting , still a bit to do before washes can be applied and the gun bay is still a work in progress . There are no instrument decals in the kit so I will be using Airscale for this . ( I have the bomber version and it has decals for the instrument panel ) ::)
Here is where I'm at now .

Excellent detail painting T! Looks great!
RAGIII
-
Thanks Rick , I'm about halfway through yet with the detail painting . Still have a few items in the pit left and haven't even started the fuselage sides yet . But so far it has been relaxing and enjoyable :)
Terri
-
Spent my day in front of bench just kicking back and relaxing with a bit more detail painting in the pit . Just have the buckles on the seatbelts left . Gun bay is ready for further detail painting and weathering and also got the instrument decals in place on the back gauges and instrument panel .
-
:)
-
The IP and radios look excellent Terri!
RAGIII
-
Thanks Rick , glad to have you tagging along on this build . 8) I do need to source even smaller panel decals and need a few on the side panels so will be digging into the spare box .
Terri
-
This has made good progress since I last looked in Terri. The gun looks particularly menacing.... The detail that you are adding is very impressive - how much will be visible when the cockpit is closed up?
Stephen.
-
Hi Stephen ,
The gun does look menacing and I can just image what the recoil would be . Most of the pit will be visible when closed up . The canopy is all glass .
The pit is done and installed in the airframe and closed up . While that was drying I made a start on the engines and the landing gear/wells and was even able to get those parts painted up . Once dry the weathering can start finishing with the assembly . Other items are also ready to go as well , landing flaps , cowlings and the rads in the lower wings are per-assembled waiting for painting and such just didn't take photo's on this . Tail planes and rudder are fix in place .

Very nice busy pit. Looks like a fun build. :)
Robin

Looks great Terri! You are making quick work of this one!
RAGIII
-
Danke Robin and Rick . Progress is going well on this one . I'm hoping to have the wings finished off by the weekend .
Terri
-
While waiting for the glue and stuff to harden up more on my replacement strut for the rumpler . I start finishing off the engines and got the wings together and the props assembled . The wings are a pretty good fit except for the under side , but not much filling compared to other builds I see online of this kit . Not much of the engine detail can be seen so I didn't spend a lot of time detail painting them . They got some really nice detail !
-
:)
Terri
-
Nice updates, looking fine with engines in view.
Ciao
Giuseppe

Pit and engines look great in place Terri!
RAGIII
-
Thank-you both for the comments 8) I didn't make much progress today , but the wing rads are done and the wheels are painted while making a start on the weathering on the landing gears legs . No pic's , things are drying at the moment .
Terri
-
I have made progress with filling a few spots and finally got the canopy parts dip in future so I can start masking it up . Bit more sanding then it's off to primer . No pic's of yet . Watching putting dry is very boring !
Terri
-
Well, this one's coming together nicely. Looks like a well detailed kit.
-
Hello Ken , it is a very well detail kit . So far it is out of the box . Only thing I added was the paint and clue .
I have see this kit built online in other forums and a few reviews and the one major complaint about this kit is the canopy . It is a multi piece affair with fit issues . Well I didn't want to follow everyone else's build by following the kit instructions just so I have something to complain about later to fit in with said group .
I glued the right side on the canopy in place first . Waited for that dry and did the left side . After a few minutes I then glued the rear center section in place made a few adjustments holding it in place for the rest of the glue to dry . I will let this dry for a few days before I move on to the other canopy parts . So far it is a perfect fit , even test fitted the other parts . Everything is nice a tight !
Terri
-
You obviously made a good decision in your approach to the canopy.
Those other guys did it wrong! ;D
-
Hi Ken , well it did seem to pay off in the end . Rest of the parts are in place and no gaps of filling is needed ( fingers are crossed ) and I can bring out the Tamiya tape and start the masking . This will take me a few days , rather slow at it I'm not . It's not a stage to rush for me .

Looks Great Terri. Tempting me to go back and finish My Monogram Pro Modeler kit I left off Years ago ;D
RAGIII
-
It is an addictive airframe ....
Terri
-
Canopy is now masked and ready for paint . Went faster then what I was expecting considering not something I really enjoy doing which is ironic because I have canopies which require masking even more panels . It's punishment .
-
:)
Terri
-
Awesome Masking job Terri! I hope mine goes as well ::)
RAGIII
-
Thanks Rick , I was able to spray the cockpit framing and did the per-shading . Today will be spraying the RLM 76 . More to follow very soon .
Terri
-
For the underside per-shading I used Tamiya Nato black and Tamiya black for the top side . The blue is also Tamiya (light blue ) with a little white added . Many coats later the blue is on . Will let this dry for a day or two before I start spraying the top shades .
-
:)
-
:)
Terri
-
The camera doesn't show the per-shading very well , but it is there .
-
Another one of your beauties in the making Terri :D :D :D
-
Your pre shading and undersurface painting look great Terri!
RAGIII
-
And it happened here as well . My up-date for yesterday is no longer here , very puzzling ?????
Yesterday I was able to spray the RLM75 which is my own mix using Tamiya XF54 and XF50 at 5:1 and I tweaked it from there . This has been masked and I'm ready to spray the RLM74 .

I am Happy to hear yesterdays' updates are gone from your thread T! I thought Maybe I had gone through an Alien abduction or was hallucinating :o It seems that ALL of Yesterdays Posts are gone, for example Brads Bristol Bulldog build and some other things I posted in ??? That being said your 410 is looking great!
RAGIII
-
Thanks Rick ,
Nice to hear that I'm not hallucinating after all . As you , I posted in a few threads as well as Brads , and yes everything is gone form yesterday . I did send a PM to Dave , but have not heard back from him yet , but with the time zones I'm sure he is sleeping right now .
Whole thing is just weird . I'm just glad the there wasn't much re-typing to do ! :o
Terri
-
First I've seen of this, and i have no idea what is going on. I'm certain Dave will be able to get this situation resolved through our ISP Folks once the sun come up in "Oz".
Cheers,
Lance
-
I have heard back from Dave , and he is looking more into it . I know nothing about computers or the tec talk so with that being said ....
Work continues with a fair bit done . The RLM 74 is sprayed and back to the RLM 75 for the molting . The white band is provided in the kit as a decal , I just rather mask and paint these . Could never get the decals to work right resulting in touch ups . Clear coating is also finished and decaling can begin here shortly . While this was drying I made a start on painting the exhaust . I hand painted them Tamiya Hull Red after 10 minutes Vallejo environmental rust was brushed on and left to dry . These are also clear coated for the next stage in their weathering .

This one is coming on really well Terri. All the time spent on painting is adding a very realistic finish to the model.
Stephen.
-
Thanks Stephen , I did have to go back and re-touch up the white band on the tail . Wasn't wide enough . Decalling will start today , and there isn't very much so that part should go better quick for me . I haven't used Meng's decals before so don't know how well they are . More to follow soon ....
Terri
-
Fantastic Painting Terri! You have almost caught up with Me so I guess I better get moving on Mine 8)
RAGIII
-
Thanks Rick :) Not my best efforts for the molting but I'm rather pleased on how it turned out . Progress continues with the decals being applied . WIll be able to seal these later with a clear coat .

The decals really bring the Model to life Terri! Have fun weathering. Maybe I will pick up a couple of ideas from you ;D

Hi Rick and thanks , feels like I'm catching up to you now ;) I did the wash on the lower and upper surfaces and will remove it tomorrow . I'll have more on this on my next post . :) It's late for me and still need to get dinner going , lost track of time ::)
Terri
-
Today I removed the washed exposing what those result are . Flory's the top side I use Flory's dark dirt and the underside side of the airframe I used Flory's grime and just around the wheel wells the dark dirt was applied and flight controls . Spinners also got a wash of the dark dirt . Up next a bit of oil and fuel staining followed by paint chipping .

Thanks Rick and Steve ! 8)
Work continues on her this evening so more up-dates are on there way . I shooting too have this one finished by the end of the weekend . I'm getting the urge to start another Mustang :)
Terri
-
Picture tease !
The finish line on this is close very close now , just a few more items left to fix in place . Navigation lights , balances , antenna and the canopy doors window thingys .
Terri
-
Brilliant Terri! I am impressed by your speed and quality of the Build!
RAGII
-
Very impressive indeed, Terri. I’ve always liked the 410.

-
Looking very good, Terri. I definitely want to see some finished pics.
-
Don't want to keep you guys waiting so ...She is finished !
I ended up have glue runs on the inside of the canopy parts in a few areas , not the first time and I'm very positive that it won't be the last time either . I really enjoyed building this kit . Over fit was very pleasing and only a few spots needed just a bit of filler .
For the rest of the weathering once the wash was wipe off I did the fuel and oil stains and a bit of mud staining on the landing gear . The oil stain I used Tamiya weathering system " oil stain " and for the fuel stains clear tamiya yellow and smoke I mixed together . This was then all seal with testors dull coat for the 3rd stage of the weathering . Pastel chalk was using for the exhaust staining and other wear and tear and paint chipping was added . This was sealed again with dull coat .
