Title: Greetings from Colorado
Post by: DannyW on November 20, 2019, 02:09:33 PM
Hi, all...I'm Dan Wilson, 74, live in Colorado Springs. I grew up on Aurora and Lindberg models, and am reliving my childhood. Actually, never grew up, but that's another story.
My usual areas of modeling are 1/48th armor (I'm the moderator for the Track 48 Forum), and also have worked a lot in 1/72nd scale aircraft.  I usually am attracted to the oddball subjects, love to do conversions, and have worked with vac forms quite a bit back when they were more popular. As a for instance, right now I have an old 1/72 SARO Lerwick vacform needing the last few decals, and a 1/48th SS D.1 conversion based on an old Lindberg Nieuport on the workbench at the moment.
A Merit 1/48th Fokker D VII just got it's wings covered with Master Sculpt lozenge decals (my first attempt at that). While that was a bit daunting, it went faster than my first attempt at lozenge handpainted in gloss enamels when I was in Junior High School (1958) on another D VII. . I guess I would rather work with older, less detailed kits and see if i can improve on them, although there are several Eduard, Blue Max and the like waiting in the wings . Looking forward to participating in this forum while trying to get up to a modicum of speed. Things changed a bit while I was away building tanks...
Dan

Welcome Dan,you'll enjoy this place.I have a soft spot for Blue Max kits, they can turn out very nicely and cover some important types a number of which have been ignored by the mainstream.
Cheers,
Dave.
