I'm always on the lookout for new modelling tools and during a hospital medical clinic visit I found some surprisingly useful items.
The nurses used fine curved scissors while dressing my wounds and also a nifty curette, like a pen with a small circular cutting shape on the tip. As these were single use items the practice is to throw them in the bin after use but I snaffled them for the hobby bench!
The dermal curette is unusual as it's like a tiny circular blade, ideal for shaving join lines off model parts.

The curved scissors are fine, very sharp and perfect for cutting shapes on decal sheets.

I would imagine these items could also be sourced from medical supply companies or bulk pharmacy outlets.

may have some luck on ebay too, i got some weird, very sharp scissors made for slicing up eyeballs on there.
the good news is that they shall never slice eyballs. can't promise my fingers are safe.
there are also a lot of dental tools that look promising.
