Title: Albatros D.V Jasta 18 (Raben) color question
Post by: hiddeous1973 on April 15, 2019, 07:08:26 AM
I am doing a WnW Albatros D,V and am almost through with painting, but suddenly I hit a small bump in the road...

There is no color callout for the wingroot. That is the small piece of wood that connects the (fabric) wing to the wood fuselage. With the option I am doing, a Jasta 18, Raben, the wings are lozenge fabric underneath and red on top, but what shoud that wingroot be?

Red is an obvious choice, but the drawings from Pheon says the wingroots shoud be left in wood? Is there evidence that that is correct, because that seems a strange combo, unpainted wood between painted wings and painted fuselage.

Can anybody point me something in the right dirrection, of give me your best (educated) guess?

many thanks, Hidde from Holland
