Wow, that's an impressive number of participants! I like the idea to honour Des Delatorre with this group build, a lot! Thank you, Dave, for organizing this group build!

Not all of us are talented!!! I'm a total amateur, but I corresponded with Des about WWI vehicles so i thought it was time I dragged an aeroplane off the shelf and actually try to finish one... and hopefully not embarrass myself along the way...

Not to worry my friend, you'll do just fine. Wishing you all the best of luck in this GB.

Yes - this is one of those times when 'taking part' is the most important thing,
Mike

Yes, I also think it would have pleased Des more, when we have fun and a lot of discussions rather than only perfect models.
Bye,
Manni

Ditto to Mike and Manni. You're 100% correct my old friends.

Tony - if you typically build WW1 vehicles, you may suprise yourself at how well you can do with a aircraft model.

I'm more used to 1/1 scale... but I'm just looking forward to taking part in Des' honour

What an amazing turnout!
Des is certainly living on through the forum. Perhaps it should be an annual event?

Good idea Guy.

Hmmm - sounds like a plan,

can't think of a better way to Honor Des's memory.

Many thanks for the positive feedback to our Des memorial group build.
It is my wish too that this become an annual event but before we discuss any 2020 ventures I want to focus on our inaugural GB. If this goes as well as it's looking so far, then it would be a great annual GB. But, like modelling, it's one step at a time.
cheers
