Hi
Just throwing this post to show that I am still in the game:)
Not much to show up to now as dealing with resin, so some sanding treatment is requested ;D

Thanks!
As per Des attempt I will start with the engine Salmson 9A2c. It is not completed yet but main parts are assembled

That's a very complex engine, how are you going to paint it with the main parts already assembled?
-
Hi
Well, used only brush with diluted paint

Very nice copper engine.

Thanks!
for couple of days I am digging the fuselage interior.
The side panels were started at that point

In front one can see some communication device, so I scratched such one to fill possible gap.

source: internet. Just for discussion purposes
(http://rebe83.waw.pl/pub/krzysiek/warsztat/SM1/SM1_16.JPG)
The engine vents were drilled as PE are provided for outer side.
I have ended up somewhere there

Hi,
Finally managed inside adjustment of all fuselage parts.
Once looked at the pics I found out the steering wheel outline should be painted in "wood" palette. It is done already. Within selfparts added I have also included the compass

I remember Des' build of this: you are replicating his build very well indeed. An unusual aircraft but a very interesting one: you are really bringing this to life.

Beautiful wheathering, the yellow-ish shade is superbly painted. It gives the idea of old fabric.

Aligning all of those struts must have been a challenge. Obviously you met the challenge and exceeded expectations! Beautiful!!
RAGIII

I like the rich wood tones of the interior, and the painting looks fantastic - gives the sense of old fabric. Did you use oils for the weathering?
All those struts look complicated.

Fine paint and assembly job!

Spectacular, K!

Last construction photos of gun nests and I would announce the SM.1 as completed!
Here she is for you Des! Hope that you still looking down there for your little baby, ww1aircraftmodels forum and our man efforts to build historic planes from piece of plastic, resin or whatever it may be the material:). Now I know that this kit requires lot of attention, spare time and decent modelling skills. As per me, 48 scale modeler this plane is huge!! I could not handle her well during the assembly not mentioning taking the photos. Nevertheless here she is!
BTW. Have found no photo to represent this markings :(

"BTW. Have found no photo to represent this markings :("
I designed the decals for this kit. Flying Machine Press published a book titled Salmson Aircraft of World War I and on pages 4 & 9 of this excellent reference you will find photographs of the aircraft in question. Just because you have not seen a particular photograph, it does not mean that it doesn't exist. ;)
Otherwise a nicely detailed model from a very difficult kit. Congratulations. A worthy subject for WNW....
-
Very fine model, congratulations on building such an unusual subject.
