Title: Bristol F2B at the RAF Museum at Hendon
Post by: Jamo on October 28, 2012, 11:37:03 AM
I found these photos of the Bristol F2B at the RAF Museum at Hendon taken by Rowan Baylis. He has a great eye for detail and these photos are particularly useful as they represent a typical WWI cockpit layout, as opposed to a post-war layout like the restored F2B operated by TVAL.

Here is the link: http://gallery3.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/19336

He has some particularly interesting shots of the interior:

Note the curiously shaped leather padding over the trigger motor of the Constantinesco gear:

Ray Rimell notes in the Datafile Special that this airrcarft was rebuilt from various airframes by the Museum's Cardington Restoration facility and is finished in the markings of E2466 flown by Captain W J F Harvey of No. 22 Squadron

Marek Mincbergr also has some excellent photos of this aircraft at his website:

And there's me spending ages eliminating the seam on the cockpit combing.  :-[

Thanks for these and if anyone has some good photos of the wiring on the engines I'd appreciate it. I think I've got a rough idea of how it all goes but one more photo couldn't do any harm.
