Title: Le Bourget DH-9
Post by: Dave in Dubai on July 07, 2018, 01:24:17 PM
There have not been too many DH-9’s in the completed models section, and seeing Bud’s lovely DH-9 Ninak, I thought I would complement it by adding a few pictures of my own build ,but the AMC version.

The model took two years to build on and off. The spoked wheels were created by the spoked wheel guru- Mr Steven Robson- thanks Steven! ;)

I was inspired to re-create the aircraft in Paris following a visit to Le Museé de l’air several years ago.

Beautiful bird, two ninaks on the same day. I like this version and how you made it.

What a beauty she is, Dave!  You're making me wish I had more display space readily available.  I enjoyed the Ninak so much, soon after starting it, I ordered this one.  Another beast!  Thanks for sharing her with us!
Cheers,
Bud

That really is a cracker and the spoked wheels add an extra touch of realism. Excellent model.

Stephen.

Outstanding model Dave! A world class replica for sure.

Which paint/shade did you use for the PC10?. It looks fantastic.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

A real gem, Dave. The worn grey and by sunlight bleached roundels make the plane look very realistic.

Thanks for the replies, with the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force being celebrated , I thought it was a good opportunity to show some red white and blue cockades in 1/32.

The PC10 colour was mixed exactly to the proportions WNW suggest using Tamiya paint.
It looks the same colour as a sample of actual pc10, at home.

Hope we see a few more RAF machines built this year?

Does anyone know about the service history of this machine?-unfortunately very little information is available at the museum in Le Bourget.

D :)

I remember seeing the original a few years ago. And you have built a very fine copy thereof. A pleasure to behold.
