Title: Albatros D.III, 7 Squadron , Edward C.Corsi, BlueMax 1:48

The captain - pilot, Edward C. Corsi, like the rest of Cooper's volunteers had no polish roots. Born in Brooklyn, NY, November 10, 1897.
In 1916, a young Eddie enlisted in the Army first as an ambulance driver then in early 1917 he took flight training and joined the French Air Force where was promoted  to captain in July 1919.
The adventures of 7 Squadron at the galician front, attacks on Budionny army, endless airport changes and heavy duty service in the defense of the borders of The Republic of Poland (and other European countries) before the impending wave of bolshevism, you can read the available literature. I will focus on D.III no. 2, which was Corsi first airplane in the 7.
According to Coopers diary "2" was damaged during the attack on the bolshevik cavalry conducted by Konopka and Corsi. The latter assumed the concentrated fire from the ground and shattered two side members began to return to base. At 1.5 kilometers outside the airport Corsi gave the signal for a forced landing. As soon as he touched the ground  his albie broke in half.

Magnificent work my friend. I really like the look of the Swirl Camouflage fabric.How difficult was it to lay down?

Beautiful! Very fine wood and sworls are absolutely attractive. I have a special respect to WW1 aircraft in our national markings, especially those used to stop the red tide. And I am very grateful to you to learn that "2" was Corsi's aircraft. Some time ago I spent a couple of months studying in vain available literature to find who flew, I also built the model of "2", only that it was Roden's 72nd scale.

   Very impressive Model, the colours and the sworl camoflage really catch the eye. I notice you mastered the wire wheel thing as well, what method did you use, or are they Photo Etch?

I will try to dismiiss all your doubts concerning this build:

- you can find my fight with BM under this link: http://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=292.0
- Techmod swirls were used and implementation with SET&SOL was very easy. Decals are really firm.
- Part spoked wheels were used (PE)

Thanks for answering my question my friend. The Swirl Camouflage is one of those I've always appreciated but not attempted. Hopefully someday when I'm able to continue modeling again I can use it for my Albatros Ser. 253.

A very striking model.  You did an outstanding job on it all around, interesting bit of history about the airplane and pilot as well, always a nice touch.

I love it!  ;D  Great work.  Thanks for the tips on the Techmod Sworl decals and your  build link.  I have the Techmod's Sworl sheet for 1/32---now just wating for a 1/32 OEFFAG kit (come on WNW!)  ;).

This is one beautiful model, and it looks great with the Polish markings.  Thanks for sharing.
