Think it's the Model Expo kit:

which is on sale now for US $ 169.99 through July 28th

from looking at the add and video I would say it is a completly differant and much better kit, has loads of photo-etch and much more refined look to the parts.
looking at the other (boat) kits they sell this does not strike me as a company that does copies of someones else's kits.

Pretty sure Artisania Latina wouldnt "knock off" a kit. Their ship models have been around for decades and are good, less expensive (vs Billings for example) kits of various types. I can only guess a 1/16 DrI is a safe first, museum scale WWI type. If it sells I'd bet the next "baby step" would be a Camel.

I didn't think they would copy the ME kit but possibly be a marketing arraingment. After watching the videos it does look to be different and a new kit. I've built a couple of AL's ship kits and like the quality of them. Have the ME Dr.1 but will definitely grab one of AL's as well.

I would rather have a Albatros D.V as I am not too fond of the Dr.1 but I could live with a Camel in that scale
