Title: Hertel' Pfalz DIIIa question
Post by: The Red Baron on May 15, 2017, 04:54:19 AM
I have a little favour to ask of those with a copy of the Osprey Pfalz Aces book. Apparently it contains photos of Hertels Jasta 40 Pfalz DIIIa. Do they show if the induction pipes on the engine were wrapped? It would be odd for a water-jacketed intake to be wrapped, but it is often modelled that way. Also, is the position of the Anemometer shown?

Thanks in advance...

Justin,
There are two good photos however both showing the right side, the question of wrapping of the induction pipes isn't answered with that. The Anemometer is well illustrated; it's attached to the left forward interplane strut about 1/3 up from the lower wing.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Lance
