Title: Eduard's new Fokker F.1 weekend kit - a question
Post by: eindecker on April 04, 2017, 06:33:28 AM
Here is what I find interesting. Eduard's 1:48 Fokker Dr.1 kits include the parts to make an F.1, however, there are no F.1 decals provided in the kits. Now I see that there is a Weekend kit for the F.1 with Voss' F103/17 on the box art. I'm wondering if Eduard has tossed the F.1 parts from their old Dr.1 kits into the box and gen'd up a separate decal sheet with F.1 markings? It would be nice to just get the decals since those of us who have an unbuilt 1:48 scale Eduard Dr.1 kit only need the decals. Probably not possible to get the sheet only from Eduard. If I were to buy the Weekend kit, I'd actually have two complete kits with only one decal sheet....

I've looked for 1:48 decals for F103/17 with no success. Yes, I know about printing my own but that is not an alternative for me.

Actually, the now Discontinued release "Der Rote Flieger", with a Dr.1 & Albatros D.V, did have decals for F.1 102/17.

and there are after market decals for the fokker f.1 series so i would just get those if i were you. then use an unused dr.1 kit because thats exactly what eduard has done. they will just put there standard dr.1/f/1 plastic with voss decls. fwiw basically its just old style crosses with the serial number " F.I 102/17 or F.I 103/17" and the little face for the cowl which i have seen guys hand paint. there are some decals out there that just had dr.1 serial numbers iirc.

if you cant find a f.i decal set you could also find the serial and face on the net and save to images ,re size and print your own decals. but its probably cheaper to just pay $15 for the eduard weekend edition
