These photos were sent to me by Dean, many thanks for allowing us to share these wonderful images of this Sopwith Pup replica at the FAA Museum.

Thank you very much Dean (and Des), some great detail shots.
I take it that, as it is a replica, it shouldn't be regarded as cannon?

Thanks Andrew. As far as a replica goes this particular aircraft is as close to the real thing as they come, and it will be great reference for anyone wishing to weather their model, the oil and fuel stains are well detailed in the photos.

More great photos for reference, Thanks to Dean for sharing and Des for bringing them here. Our little Site is building a very impressive stock of References, an asset I use more and more as time goes on.
Cheers,
Lance

Many thanks to Dean (and Des)! The photos are really useful
OK, a replica, but it's already helped resolve several questions in my mind: the nature and extent of the sworling on the cowling and upper fuselage metal; the tone of the wooden elements (struts etc); and the finish on the propellor.
I guess the challenge is how I keep track of this wonderful and growing archive of photos.
Best wishes
Nigel
