2016 was a very unusual year in my modelling. I have built 7 models alltogether but 4 of them were not related to WW1 - such thing did not happen to me in the recent 10 years, since my interest in WW1 modelling started with Roden's Curtiss H.16 :o. This is the fault mainly of the new growing Polish model maker Arma Hobby who after many long years of waiting provides us, Polish modellers, with very good models of Polish subjects. So here is my last off-topic model from 2016, completed right on New Years Eve, the Polish jet trainer TS-11 Iskra bis DF, in naval livery seen in 2011 at 41st Dęblin Training Unit.

At least I managed to find the one with a tactical number somehow fitting to the main subject of this forum :D
But now I promise to be more behaved in 2017, there are so many new WW1 models around. I think I will be building mostly 1/32 - but still in Polish markings. Work on SE.5a has already begun. :)

Very nice model! The TS-11 always reminds me of my teens, when Europe was slowly becoming one again and pictures started turning up of Polish MiG-23s, TS-11s, etc in magazines. I still remember the TS-11 poster on my room wall, though it was in different camouflage :)

Ian, breaks are fine but too many of them are not. As for me, enough of breaks.
Jeroen, the majority of Iskra examples were in bare metal finish, I assume yours was just silver. BTW, interesting, that a poster with this aircraft was available.

I am not so into jets but still remember those flying in Deblin..many years ago:)
You have done break & I will do mine as well..after 7 years of WWI adventure.

PS. no rigging = no modelling:)

Jeroen, the majority of Iskra examples were in bare metal finish, I assume yours was just silver. BTW, interesting, that a poster with this aircraft was available.
It's been a few years... but if I remember it may have been silver indeed. The posters were part of a series on (if I, again, remember correctly) Czech and Polish Air Forces. I don't remember much of the Czech parts, but the TS-11 and a Polish MiG-23 in camouflage with a red Griffon-like marking on a white shield near the cockpit ended up on my wall :)
Modelling-wise, I still need to do a MiG-29 in "hero's of Koscziusko" (excuse the spelling) commemorative scheme. For another day! :)
Jeroen (als trying to get the wife to go to Krakow and other parts of Poland on vacation -and not only for the WWI exhibits!)

Jeroen, then it must have been a Mig23 from 28th squadron based in Słupsk-Redzikowo, like this one:

The city of Słupsk has the red griffon on the white shield as the coats of arms.
It is a good choice to build Mig29 in that beautiful scheme. I must say, that those American volunteers forming 7th Kościuszko Squadron, besides all other qualities, had a very good artistic talent to create their famous badge, which has been used for a long time by many units and still is.
And I can only encourage you to come to Cracow. There is truly much more to see than just the Polish Aviation Museum (which itself would be worth a trip).

myself too i have been not doing too much ww1 and have been playing with some armor models. your jet looks very nice though my friend. i think the first build i remember of yours was that roden spad at the aerodrome which was itself wonderful.
