More than two weeks ago, my favourite cat (Maine Coon, nine years old) went out for her daily walk and disappeared. She never did such a thing before, and, after being hit by a car last year (loosing the most part of her tail), she never went too far away from the house.
Weird as it may sound, but i was absolutely devastated and lost every ounce of my modelling mojo. Every modeling action whatsoever ceased. I couldn't decide on a way ahead: To get another cat again, or to be happy with my two remaining assistants...
Yesterday evening she stood on my front door again, complaining, after being AWOL for such a long time. In the end a neighbour confessed that he had her locked in all the time, the baxxxrd. The cat didn't suffer a scratch at all, which means she can take over her job as my PMA (Premier Modelling Assistant) again. Fist task will be to go a-hunting some of my lost mojo.

I'm happy, again.

(Sorry, if this sounds plain silly. I was not aware how much i missed my stupid PMA. Des, if you think this is inappropriate, feel free to delete this thread.)

Having two cats as well and having almost lost the one some weeks ago (emergency operation) I can completely understand the fear you had to go through.
Now back to the bench... :)

Stefan,
Sure doesn't sound plain silly to me, our pets are part of the family and to lose them is traumatic and saddening, I'm very glad she returned none the worse for wear! My Family tell me I dwell too much on my assistant, a 10 year old pure bred Alsatian Dog, as I did with the others I've had as companions over the past 50 years but a loyal pet returns love and consideration ten fold in my experience.
So back to your work bench, Sir, and make sure She gets back to her duties there as well!
Regards,
Lance

Great news Stefan to have your assistant back home, always a very sad time when one of our beloved pets have to depart.

My three cats are my kids. :)

I got upset when a neighbour's cat, whom we feed regularly because he's not well looked after, disappeared for a week. I was so worried I went and knocked on the "owners" door, and they were on holiday but the house sitter was feeding the cat & letting him into the house! As soon as the owners returned, he came back down for food.
So I can imagine how upset you were at loosing your own cat!

I don't need to say anything more that this but you have my complete appreciation - silly it 'ain't'. I'm pleased to hear your cat returned safely.
And as for those who have lost one or had to have it 'administered' you have mine (and my wife's) total understanding. Though we often look after friends pets we were so distraught at having to do that we have never wanted to go through it again with one of our own.
Hope your mojo's fully recovered Stephan

That's really good news Stefan. We have two cats and, living in the countryside, one of them quite often goes off for a wander. Usually it's for about 4-5 days, but last spring it was almost three weeks before she bothered to grace us with her presence.
Best wishes
Nigel

Stefan,
I had two cats at one time - they were strays from a rescue home. They departed over 15 years ago but I still miss them at times. To lose a pet is like losing a member of one's family (I know from experience of both), so to write that it is "silly"is plain daft. I am really pleased for you that she has returned and hope that she will be with you for many more years to come.
Stephen.

Stefan, thanks for sharing your story. You have a good heart. Sorry you had to deal with such anguish, but ...a happy ending!
Our cat, Hamish, is a constant annoyance, but we would not know what to do without him 8)
Cheers,
Gary
