Title: Hannover CL.IIIa Eduard 1/48
Post by: Naimbs on August 27, 2016, 06:44:25 PM
Hello,

I started this very interesting model.

Wood is simulated with oils:

There are two problems with this model:

- Decals wings.

- The engine, which is really bad. This should normally represent an Argus As.III....

Will following along on this one , we don't really see this one being built in the scale so this is a treat . I have built this kit when it was first released and have another stash . I had to sand down the fuselage insides for the PE cockpit to fit . The engine is sad even with the PE parts added . Copper State Models has an excellent replacement .

Outstanding start! I envy your ability to work with PE interior parts. I have never had much luck with them. One reason I sold this kit long ago  :-[

Hi Arnaud
I too bought this one and it remains unstarted in the stash. Brilliant subject but the reason why I have not started it is because it looks a bit difficult so I would be interested to see how you put it together.

Nice work! I`ve got the kit so, I know how crude this thing is ;) Your model is going to be great!
You should most certainly buy the CSM`s Argus - try to contact Edgar - maybe he`s got some more left or he can cast some more.

Thank you,

I'll wait for the Argus.

I have just received Centenary Datafile 168 and 169 'Hawa'! vol.1 and 2. I have not found the answer to a big question for the color of the wings.

There is finally little information. 4 or 5 color? when? Application straight or diagonally? I have 4 color in my stock. I find very attractive profiles Cl.IIIa 3870/18 and 7005/18.

I do not know what to do. If the answer is 5 color, I need to order ....

Thank you all

Arnaud

Just checked.  Edgar has 9 in stock.  You really should get it.  It will make a world of difference.  I built the Koster Hannover a while back, and it came with a gorgeous little engine.  Still, if the CSM offering was available at the time, I would have used it instead.
Cheers,
Bud

That Hannover is looking very, very good, Arnaud. I do like your interpretation of the interior and your wonderful use of colour. As with many questions about WW1 aircraft, you may never get a definitive answer on the wing fabric. But I just love the way it looks now! Please show us more, Regards, Marc

It is good, I received my order, and it is splendid!

Yes, I know it's always very complicated to know!  :-[

I do not know how to do. Normally, the louvres are hollow. It is very small, and there are many .... If you have an idea?  :'(

Another of your beautiful builds - sorry I missed this one before. 3 on the go at once would totally confuse me but you are making a first class job of all three. Glad you have a replacement engine as the new one will certainly make your model look even better.

for the louvers i usually take my scriber and hollow out from the rear . i use a squadron type scriber wich has a pointy hook end so i can just dig in until it hollows out to my satisfaction.
