Title: Gotha Font
Post by: zavod44 on August 23, 2016, 03:32:44 AM
Does anyone know of a font out there that loos like the font used on the Gotha's.  I think the G III-GV was pretty similar.  Has anyone ever noticed a font that was similar?  I'm trying to do a specific serial number and instead of tracing it in Illustrator it would be much easier to just use a stock font from someplace......any help would be great.....

Try a Google search for "Germanic font", it comes up with a few pretty likely contenders...

Check this site http://hans.presto.tripod.com/fonts/stencil5.html
I have had great luck getting fonts here for my decals.

Which vinyl cutter do you use? And can it cut out the Gotha serial ID code in your mock-up?
I'm still in the learning stage with my cutter, but I do need to get in the habit of trying new things with it.

Cheers,
BVB

We actually have a vinyl cutter at work we use for paint masks....I guess the next step is just making the data....

I use an Ioline cutter. Corel and SignLab for the layout.
It can cut the serial no problem , have used it many , many times for model work. My own and others , custom work , singular subjects only. The 'mock-up' shown in my last post was the final pen drawing of the work. I can swap out the cutter knife for a pen for checking prior to cutting material .
 What cutter do you use?

I have two.
KNK Force and KNK Maxx Air.
The Maxx Air is used for vinyl masks and the Force (native software still in development) is used for multi-media work.
