I finished this model several days ago, and here's the completed photos. 2695 is in the category of unit and pilot unknown; surrendered at the termination of WWI it's origin and background were never determined. A lot of the colouration is speculative in the Reference Publications, I chose the scheme due to it's flashy appearance and the very attractive lightening bolt personal marking, part of Pheon Model's A/M Decal Sheet.
Here's a bunch of photos to complete the Build Log, please excuse the amateur photography, as my brother, a professional photographer says I haven't progressed past the Brownie Holiday camera I received for my 10th Birthday!
A couple of overall views:

As is apparent in the photos I ended up with the main rear struts on the right side having a small bend, a few of the GasPatch turnbuckles are out of alignment with the rigging wires, and no amount of touch ups would remedy the chipping on the leading edges when exposed to the dreaded "machro" camera setting. That "perfect" Build continues to evade me, a version of the Holy Grail that will never be found!
Not my best Build but I'm happy to have her in the case. I enjoyed the Kit, it's a real pleasurable Build and up to the high standard we all appreciate from Wingnut Wings.
Cheers,
Lance

You have produced a stunning model Lance, the overall finish is superb, you did a fantastic job with the propeller and the shading on the fin and rudder is excellent. You may say that it is not a perfect model but in my eyes it is as close as you can get to perfect, congratulations Lance and thank you for the wonderful build log.

There are to many things to list where this model is concerned.
All I can say is this... you never fail to raise the bar on each and every kit you build.
well done, Lance!!

P.S. The Prop is fantastic! ;)

Des, von Buckle,
Thank for your very kind and generous words, peer support and encouragement is not taken lightly in my world and I really appreciate your comments.

Great images of a really lovely model Lance - another one to be immensely proud of :)
I really like that subtle chipping around the cowling and those lozenge decals really do make it stand out. Another masterpiece for sure

Bravo Lance! Congratulations on a marvelous build! Now my old friend, you may
think you missed perfection, but if I were lucky enough to end up with such a result
I would be flopping around the model room like a Jackfish out of water with pleasure!
Well done, and I am looking forward to your next project. :D
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Truly stunning results, Lance! I can only hope mine will turn out so fine! This is the scheme I plan on doing, and you've set the bar, so I think I'll let the fervor over yours die down before I take knife to plastic.
Cheers,

Tug, Ernie and Bud,
Thanks for taking a look and for your generous comments, as I keep saying they really mean a lot. Ernie, the real flopping around presently is "what's next"? I'm probably going to squeak a fairly simple Build into the line up before getting serious about the Group Build, but then again.........
Cheers,
Lance

As said before: A beauty!

Beautiful model Lance, I don't see those flaws you are seeing and in few months you won't be sure what exactly was wrong and why you can't spot it anymore ;)
Congratulations on another marvelous build, as vonB said "you never fail to raise the bar"!
PS: I like the propeller too.

SUPER result Lance.
Absolutely marvelous!
And when I build mine I will unashamedly attempt to
imitate yours to the enth degree.
I hope you wont keep us waiting too long for your next.
Salute! :)

As the "old school" photographers back in analog days (you can see how old i am, as i know of a time before the iphone...) kept demanding: "more light!".
Your photos would benefit from some more artificial lighting. The plane itself is lovely (as you already know).

I enjoyed following your build as always! A truly Stunning Model from the start! Your results are beautiful as always Lance! To my eyes everything still looks perfect from rigging to finish 8)

Thank you all, Guys, for your encouraging and too kind comments. Stefan, I agree with your recommendation for more light; I'll be looking for a solution to that requirement and, in fact, probably have it already in my workshop.
Cheers,
Lance

Nicely done!!! 8)

Well done Lance - I really like it! I quite enjoyed comparing notes with you as we built the same kit. Your model has convinced me to pick up another one of these (when I finally start buying the WnW kits again using their new system and prices :-\)
Cheers,
Gary

Thanks for looking Bob, and for the nice words. Glad you like it Gary, it might not look as good sitting beside your silver-grey beauty! As for new orders to Wingnut Wings, did you win the Lotto last weekend?! ??? I'm waiting to see if they fix the present shipping system so I don't have to sell my truck to pay for an order! :-\
Cheers,
Lance

Looks fine to me. Especially like the chipping around the nose.

Borsos,
Thanks for looking and for your much appreciated comment. The Blue is a Tamiya "mix" of X-14 Sky Blue and XF-66 Light Grey with a few drops of their XF-64 red Brown to tone it down slightly. Still maybe a little too brilliant possibly but I like it.
