As of today, July 31st, after thirty-seven years and nine months, I have retired from the US government. I'll no longer be talking to pilots and working
as a radar approach controller. I'll take the next two weeks off then start back as a civilian contractor to train air traffic controllers.
I've been working six days a week for most of the last seven months and the change to four days a week will give me time to do a bit more
modelling. I'll still go by the user name "Radarman" because that's what I've been for so long.
Now back to the bench!

Congratulations on your retirement, happy modelling!

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
Yeah ! A new life is beginning Kevin. Have fun on your bench. :)
Best regards.

Congratulations on the significant milestone Kevin! I spent 37 years in uniform and being one of the Guys on the other end of your radio, and then eased into another 9 years in various part time, sometimes full time contractor type jobs. Resist the temptation to overdo the second career stuff and take advantage of the less stressful lifestyle you've earned, time and aging has a way of catching up with you when you least expect it! Hope you find a great healthy mix of work and play, and lots of bench time, it's good for the soul! 8)
Cheers,
Lance

Many thanks to Giuseppe, Des, Alain, and Lance! My first order of business will be getting on a
steady sleep schedule. That, and a shopping trip across the water to Victoria, B.C. with my wife
and sister-in-law. One of my favorite model shops is there.
Thanks again, Kevin

Kevin,
Got to be BC Shaver's Hobby, I used to hang out there as a youngster in the 50's. I swear some of the Kits I saw in the upper back loft area on a recent visit were still there from those days! Great memories, that place got nearly every cent I earned packing groceries and the staff treated me very well!
Great childhood memories in that beautiful city and one of my favourite places to visit!
Cheers,
Lance

Yes Lance, that's it. I love Victoria and always buy something at BC Shaver's Hobby.

Wow, Small world! That place is a true heritage site, one of the few good shops that has, thus far, survived on-line shopping! Hope you have a great visit!
Cheers,

Congratulations Kevin! I do hope you enjoy it. My wife recently retired with a medical disability, and she's loving the lack of stress in her life for a bit.
As for me, I'll have to work until lunch on the day I die. ;)
