Hi, my name is David and I have always been interested in aircraft, having built many plastic and balsa models from about 6yrs old. I built a lot of models being petrol powered or rubber up until I was about 19, found girls and fast cars then LOL.
Started back into R/C models about 30yrs ago and found my way to building Scale R/C models in the 1/5th to 1/4 scale powered. Most of them were WWI or early between wars aircraft as they all have character.
Had to give up these as it got to expensive when I had to go on to a pension, so I have now started back with plastic models and I was checking out the internet as to what was available when I came across Des's webpage for WWI aircraft. Now I have been inspired to model aircraft from WWI and pre wars aircraft.
Hope to learn heaps about construction and finishing as I hope one day to be able to scratch build models again from plans.
Favourite WWI aircraft is a BE2e, post WWI aircraft is a StampeSV4C, both of these I have made R/C models of and hope to do the same with scratch building.

Thanks, I do have pictures somewhere, all old school 35mm film, so have to find them and then scan and then post them up. I did it in "Daily Express " liverly from the UK.

Welcome David.
Im also a new member who is returning to plastic. You'll find this a friendly place that adds a lot of fun to building models. It sure helps to have a group whose eyes don't glass over when you talk about models. You will soon get inspired to start scratch building that Be.2e that that you hear yelling, "Build Me"

Thanks everyone, have been looking through the Forum and I can see that I am lucky to find this site, lots of info and lots of friendly advise.
Just scored nicely today, had a visit from a old friend who is into Models as well, brought along a 1/72 Hercules and what I really needed a Airbrush compressor with air tank and regulator. Thanks to him I can dig out my old airbrush and airbrush my models instead off having to hand paint the entire model. Got a couple of 1/72 WWI models to practise on until I get my first 1/32 model.
Also welcome to the other newbies and thanks for the welcome.

Good to have you joining the forum, David! It sounds like you already have a lot of scratchbuilding experience, please show us your work, even if you start in 1/72 scale! A good compressor helps...
Regards,
Marc

Welcome aboard, David.
I always thought the 1:32 models were practice for 1:72... ;)

Gee I got that one wrong, thought you started with 1/3 scale and as you got older the smaller the scale you moved to. I will be on 1/144 in a few years LOL. :o
