I couldn't resist an old Airfix model of the polar research vessel on ebay recently and managed to land it at a reasonable price.
The real thing is situated three quarters of an hour away from me in Dundee, where she was built. A marvellous award-winning multimedia attraction which is well worth a visit if anyone finds themselves nearby.
I've looked everywhere for 1/144 scale ships railings but can't find anything suitable. Can anybody here help please?
I'm planning a waterline model stuck on the ice with a couple of dog teams and sleds (included) setting off. (More 1/144 figures would be welcome too.)
If anybody can help with sources it would be much appreciated.
Thanks Sandy.

they are not for this ship, but they are in the right scale...
Eduard has these on offer, http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Fletcher-1942-railings-1-144.html?cur=1&listtype=search&searchparam=railing (http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Fletcher-1942-railings-1-144.html?cur=1&listtype=search&searchparam=railing)
maybe they are of some use. they also heve several in 1/200 scale that might be usefull

Thanks Hidde, yes I'd seen these but they seem quite specific for the Fletcher class. Quite expensive too for something that's not quite right.
I'll check out the 1/200 stuff though - wasn't aware of that.
Cheers
Sandy
