Title: Spitfire Mk.VIII 1/32, Tamiya
Post by: LukasTheLight on June 09, 2016, 12:44:57 PM
Hello guys,

here is few pictures from what keeps me away from my WWI subjects... I got this as a birthday present and I became member of local IPMS community here in Sydney so I hope this one will be ready for every year Spitfire competition in September - I call it cheating on my great war aircraft... :)

Well if you are going to cheat it may as well be with something good looking ;)
I agree!  That Spit could tempt me to cheat!  Lovely!
Cheers,
Bud

The Spitfire kits are sublime...

As we are confessing - I'm 'cheating' too (don't tell anyone) I'm making a Tamiya MkXVI alongside a 1/48 Eduard version with all the 'extra's'. Bizzarely, the Eduard kit is more detailed!

Hi Lukas - 'Tis a true old saying "A change is as good as a rest"  :)

Stunning painting so far mate - especially like the effect you have on that spinner - big thumbs up there - and the internals look brilliant too. Keep it up - I'll look forwards to future postings. Your WNW projects will still be there when you have it finished  ;)

Regards - Tug

Magnificent detailing Lukas, the engine compartment/firewall and the cockpit are stunning in their realism. The spinner and prop appear like photos of the real thing, this is looking very nice, hope you continue to publish updates. As for the cheating "thing", a little variety will instill some "spice" in your next several WWI Builds! ;)
Cheers,
Lance

Thank you guys for (as always) great and positive comments :) I can tell that this isn't my last Tamiya 1/32 kit... already playing with idea for another one...

I totally agree, Eduard nailed it, I built theirs first release Mk.IX (back in my 1/48 days :D ) and it is spectacular kit!!! Sometimes I think It is shame that Eduard doesn't try some great war 1/32... but I totally understand why.

I hope not. If they did I would be tempted to add an Italian Squadron to my collections, Nieuports, SPAD VIIs, XIIIs, and then things like the 202 :-)

PS: The Spitfire is looking terrific!
