My wife and I have decided to have timber floors laid throughout our house, the laying commences on Monday 18th. In the mean time we have to clear the house of all furnishings so massive disruptions have begun. My model/computer room will be the last room to be done so I will be off air for several days, I will let everyone know when my computer will be unplugged and hopefully when it will be up running again.

Thanks for the heads-up Des. The house will be a mess for a bit, but I'm sure you
will be pleased with the result. Are you installing a light or dark wood? The
only other question is will it affect the goings on with the Site and forum?
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks Ernie, the wood colour is a mid tone, it is called 'Australian Lustre' which is just a product name.
Unplugging my computer will have no effect on the forum or my website, just means I will be off air for a few days. I will still be able to check in to see if there are any new members awaiting approval by using my mobile phone.
If there are any issues with the forum during my down time I will get to it as soon as I am back on line, but I can't foresee any problems.

Best of luck and I'm sure you'll be thrilled when the work is all done. Wood floors just seem to exude warmth and hominess.

Have the installers put in some prop designs in your work room floor.
-
Not prop designs on the floor but I have been thinking of a real WW1 propeller to hang on the wall, pretty pricey though.

Good luck with it all, Des.

Des,
Boy talk about a house in turmoil. I know you and the Misses will glad when all's complete and the homestead returns to normal.I know it's a real pain but it's sure worth it in the end. I hope you'll post photographs once it all done.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

Thanks Gregory, I will certainly post photos once the job is complete.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
Sure I promise too. ;)
It will be more confortable. Personnally, I like walking barefoot on timber flood. It's some oak in my bedroom.
Best regards.

The floors were supposed to be finished yesterday but they ran out of materials, they are a room and a half short. Stock has been ordered but it has to come from Melbourne, it will be in Sydney on Monday then down here on Tuesday, the guys will probably be back on the job on Wednesday they said it will only take a day to complete the job. At least they finished our main bedroom yesterday so Adrienne and I could move our bed from the lounge room and back into our bedroom. The house is still in one hell of a mess at the moment but hopefully after Wednesday we can start putting stuff back. I punched a hole in the wall in our dining room and found the telephone cable, this allowed me to hook up the modem and keep our computers running, it's only a small/ish hole so will be easy to repair.

Well thank goodness, Des! I had visions of a door-sized hole in the
wall. ;D Good to know the job is nearing the end and you can have
the full use of your house back, my friend.
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
Good news ! You can see finish line. I suppose you'll have a bit of housework after (dust...).
So, are you happy with your brand new ground ?
Best regards.
