Hi all
I've buy this model a long time ago and just for fun I've decided to built it straight from the box
and the box is very full
with two sets of photoetched parts
one is coloured
some mask for the wheels
I think the scheme will be that shown on the box art
here the box

Excellent choice, Moustique! It's a fantastic kit that builds into a beautiful model. I look forward to following.
Cheers,
Bud

I saw a very beautiful one in Valladolid (Spain this week-end)
I think the scales were painted...

Actually a great choice. The Roland is a beauty. I'm keen on following your progress.
Somewhere I read an article about a guy who replicated the fish scales with handmade masks. He made over 600 single scales for that bird!
You are true, xan, a very beautiful, the one from Valladolid. I love these in-flight installations.
-
I will be following your build with great interest, Moustique.
The fishy paint scheme will be quite fetching, my friend. :D
Cheers,
Ernie :)

thank guys
it's true that the roland shown by Xan is beautiful and I hope approach this built
but I have no courage to make 600 singles scales
for me I will take Eduard décals

As nice as hand painted scales look I would go the decal option, my eyes would not be up to all that painting.

I'm with Rick and Des...thank goodness for the decals. :D
Cheers,
Ernie :)

That was just an anecdote, not a request at all. I would use the decals too! ;)
-
Looking forward to this especially with those decals.

Lovely aircraft and a wonderful scheme; I look forward to this.

It's a lovely kit. I built this one but I got the colours wrong and the decals didn't show up properly. I've got another one to have another go at it.
Watching with interest.

thank all to follow this built
Borsos I was not enough strong to made paint scales but I'm sure that it's a great challenge :P
like as usual I began by the interior
eduard say wood so I'll make wood with my usual method
base xf 59
then oil paint with a flat brush
then one spray of clear orange

Lovely wood tones, Moustique!
Cheers,
Bud

I wonder who's right. WnW says the interior is bluish-grey, while Eduard says woodgrain.
Having said that, Mouistique, your wood tones are wonderful. Excellent work, my friend!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

thank Martin
I need your help
eduard notice says to paint the plane blue gray
the ref is Mr color 117 and mister color 117 is ligth blue
and the scale on the décals are more gray than blue
the WW notice is more précise pale blue which is a misc of x2(white)+x18(black)+?
and ? is light blue or pale cream yellow
very simple
:-\
I try to paint the wing with gunze 417
(http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/3660106.jpg) (http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=3660106.jpg)
can you help me to choice the good color
-
With the light blue, Moustique, you could go with whatever shade
is pleasing to you. With the exposure to the elements and a
whole mess of variables, you could pick just about any shade within
reason and you would have an exact match to at least one aeroplane.
Just pick one that has a good contrast with the "scaly" decals.
That's about all the useless advice I can come up with, my friend. ;) ;D
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Moustique a very nice choice of subject indeed! I really like the C.II - an extremely aesthetically pleasing bird in my opinion...
I think you should check the Wingnut Wings instruction - they are a great source of information - they`ll help you with the interior and with the colour too!
Forgive me, but I think you should redo the wing - the shading on the ribs should be straight...
The woodgrain`s looking good but I think the cockpits were painted blue as well.
-
thank Ernie for your explananation
you're right Filip my ribs were not very straight :o
I'll try to modify that
