Title: RWD-8a (1/72)
Post by: PrzemoL on March 28, 2016, 07:56:46 PM
My second detour from WW1 related subjects. Just finished - the model of the Polish trainer from 1930s - RWD-8a. This was the most numerous aircraft built in Poland in mid-war years.
The model is a new release from IBG - their aviation debut. Honestly, not a very successful one. Luckily, the remedy was quick with Attack Squadron (Arma hobby) almost immediate release of resin correction for wings, elevator, rudder, nose with prop. I have also used a lot of PE elements from the Part set and added some scratch in the cockpit and in the aileron control mechanism. The version I modelled requred some other modifications of u/c, the cabane struts were massive - I thinned them. In fact not much is left from the original IBG in my model. Enjoy.

Not a bad looking model Przemol, such a shame that so much of the original kit could not be used.

Des.

That's a gorgeous little trainer, Przemo!  You did your usual magic, making a rough kit look slick.  Fantastic paintwork, my friend.
Cheers,
Bud

Thank you, gentlemen. I am glad you like it. The next one will be a WW1 subject, the brand new Airfix BE2c. I am waiting for the Windsock Datafile.

Why is it that your 1/72 scale models always look as though they are 1/32 or larger? Fantastic modelling. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the new Airfix BE2 - another gem on the way no doubt.

Stephen.

The infamous IBG RWD... You guys have no idea how much discussion this little model triggered among the Polish modellers.
Very nice job Przemo, I really like it - one of the nicest I`ve seen so far.
