Title: DH2 Rigging
Post by: Yorki1960 on February 25, 2016, 10:41:12 PM
I had this old 1/72 DH2 sat on the shelf when I came across the WnW rigging diagram.  In for a penny in for a pound .... so off I went down to the fishing tackle shop in Aberdeen and the guy there showed me all the fine threads in the fly fishing area.  So bought a couple and got to work drilling Ø0.3 holes and making some tiny pulleys (just some small Ø sprew really).

The booms broke probably to the kits age and the stress of the rigging and I lost the prop an broke off the gun, but hey ho here is the results of my labour.

The rigging came out very nicely! The thought of doing this aircraft still gives me nightmares  :-[ You are not the only one to post about breaking a boom recently so I guess this is something to watch out for in any scale!

Outstanding work on the rigging, Yorki!  Nearly miraculous, I'd say, given the scale.  Like Rick, I've been too chicken to give this one a try.  I've got An Eduard 1/48 and a WNW DH2 languishing in the stash while I work up the nerve.
Cheers,
Bud

Nothing wrong with the rigging here, especially considering the scale.

What will be your next project?

Rigging this beast is a daunting task in any scale, in 1:72 I'd call it nearly insurmountable. Well done Yorki!

Lance

The DH2 is a bear to rig in any scale, but in 1/72 it is
absolutely amazing to see what you have done, Yorki.
Well done, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Now that is a labour of love. As others have said it really is a testament to your skills especially in that scale.
