Hi folks,
here's my last 1/48 WWI bird until now: The Eduard Eindecker kit in 1/48. It's a pretty kit with no mayor problems although it's a little over-engineered. I finished it – of course – as an airplane at the Verdun-front in 1916. It's one of the last E II, brought up to E III standarts. There are two photos of it in the Eindecker Compendium (WDF), on p. 16 and a Profile depicting this very machine. There's another photo in one of the WNW booklets (the E III I think) shot from another angle. I differed from the Profile because in my interpretation the plane was painted Feldgrau, not beige.
Prop is carved wood, the rest is oob. Rigging is Uschi van der Rosten's stuff. The decal paper where I printed the serial on didn't need a sealing coat of future. Well, I thought, then it's going to be thinner ... You see how wrong I was.
I hope, you like it anyway

An excellent build of a very nice kit. Your metal cowl swirls look excellent and you did a great job with the carved wood propeller, the overall finish on this model is superb, well done.

I see what you mean about the serial.. :o

Nicely done, particularly the turned metal and shading.

I really like the scheme you have chosen. I think the feldgrau suits her. The swirls on the cowling look a spot on. When it comes to the thick decal film you can try Agama's decal solutions. Also you can now carefully coat area around the decal with future and sand it with 2000 - 2500 sanding paper. But you need to repeat the whole procedure few times and be very gentle ;)

She's absolutely gorgeous, Borsos! I have this one in my stash and now you've inspired me to start it sooner than later.

Wonderfully finished model - the metal of the cowling looks incredibly realistic. I too like the feldgrau scheme - it somehow looks better than simple CDL but that is merely a matter of taste.

Thank you very much – you are very kind! :D
Here's a last pic, this time with pilot (a Hecker & Goros figure)

Stephen, I definitely agree with you regarding the preference of Feldgrau before CDL.

Another absolutely gorgeous Model! Like all of the others I love the cowling turned metal effect.

Nice little model, Borsos. The figure is nicely done too. Working on the WnW version of the EIII right now trying to figure out that rigging!
