In the last parcel I received from CSM there was a present: a pre-production fret of their FK 8.
Given that the subcontractors were not expert kit makers, they messed up a lot but the quality of the underlying kit is very high, therefore I decided to share some pictures of this prototype (Please forgive me, Edgar)

Was not for the untypical squared sprues apperarance, even the sight would be pleasant
and some details are impressive:

I know that they plan to have this kit remade from a more experienced toolmaker and I will wait with impatience.
My advice was to have it made in 1/32, trying to mantain prices as low as possible, since it is unlikely that WNW will issue one in the next months...
What do you think about this?

I know I would be interested in a FK 8 in 1/32, as a Canadian won a VC , while flying one. Also I like the clunky look of the British two seaters and I am about to part with my precious pennies to get a Ninak. :'(. Plus it would be nice to see more people making First World War aircraft and inter war aircraft besides WNW. It is a pity that Roden was scared off of doing them as they do make more WWI subjects in the smaller scales.
I am also tempted to get the gotha crew they make and some of the others, but that will have to wait for a bit as I am about to order the Ninak and looking at buying a portable spray booth.

what a lucky man you are to get gifts that cant even be purchased yet, very nice. i cant wait for the fk-8 to come out.

Lucky you Ermeio to have this kit already! I think it all looks pretty good even now. I`m certainly glad that it`s in 1/48th, which as you may now is my scale of choice ;)Another one I can`t wait for...

i would buy it in 1/32 for sure.

i cannot wait to see the fk-8 early limited edition in my own hands.i respect your commitment to excellence edgar

I am probably certifiable but the recent Karaya conversion fuselage for an Out of Production, one off, Albatros has me thinking. What about an SE5 fuselage and engine conversion for the WNW SE5a? Ok PC 10 but there are some cool schemes out there. No glass house windscreen or More raked wingtips are really needed as after the initial batch the SE5a type wing was used, and many were retrofitted. Some colorful 56 sq. birds as well as those that 60 sq.( I think), inherited. The kit is still available which is a plus.

PS: Love the FK8 and would like to see one in 1/32nd.
PPS: Raked wingtips and greenhouse canopy would be OK also 8)

To me that greenhouse canopy is what makes the se5 cool.I have contemplated doing a conversion to early se5 using a kitbash of the rodwn and Lindberg kits in 1/48

You have a point but.... it didn't last very long after 56 deployed to France. One of the many improvements made that became standard on later aircraft.
