My vision of the late version of DFW C.V, which served in 1. Eskadra Wielkopolska (1st Great Poland Squadron) in 1919/1920 in the Polish-Soviet war. The model presents the aircraft from December 1919, when the squadron was based in Kisielewicze near Bobrujsk (now Belarus). It was flown by various pilots and observers but one photo session indicates, that once at least it was flown by Kazimierz Burzyński and the observer place was taken by the future Gen. Władysław Anders.
The squadron for its early 1919 service in the east front had its aircraft decorated with special commemorative plates showing the white eagle and the white band with the inscription "Za obronę kresów wschodnich" (For the defence of eastern extremes) which was later used as the squadron badge.
The kit was enhanced with some scratch built details in the engine section as well as the altimeter in the front cabane and rear-view mirror. The markings are decals designed and made by Melius Manu. The spoked wheels come from Scale Spokes.
Enjoy.

Truly extraordinary all around, my old friend! How did you handle the wheels? Did you remove the tires to paint them? They turned out spectacular as did the rest of the model.
Cheers,
Bud

Bud, sorry, I have missed your question.
Yes, I managed to remove the thin black tyres, painted the wheels, put the dark grey tyres on and added some wash. In the matter of fact, the tyres went off quite easily, putting the others on was a little bit more difficult, but it can be done by gentle rolling them on, bit after bit.

Wow! Spectacular project!
Tedious work in each step of assembly :) Przemek, pls let me know how have you done the prop as it seems as just taken from production line..

Thanks, Lukas and Krzysiek.
Lukas, 9 weeks for a WNW two-seater is not too fast.
Krzysiek, the propeller was done by my usual method. First - a base coat of light beige colour. Then I prepare the masks with layers patterns - this I do on a sheet of paper with "pressed" outline of the blade side and the pattern itself drawn basing on a photo of the prop. Then I have to mirror-image it, I attach the masking tape on the opposite side and thus I can cut with scissors the masks with paper at the back. The paper can be removed and the mask is ready. After masking I spray a coat of darker colour - beige mixed with brown. After removal of masks the pattern may require some retouch. Finally a few thin layers of clear orange.

Well, It could be that Im too slow ;D nevermind, great work all the way ;) I wouldn't expect anything less anyway ;)
Lukas
p.s. It seems to me that you just started it yesterday... maybe thats why I find it so quick ;)
