Title: PAINTIN TRANSLUCENT CDL
Post by: GHE on November 28, 2015, 10:26:27 PM
Meine Herren !
On the homepage Des shows a method of paintin translucent CDL.
My idea is to use Tamiya White Primer and then mask the ribs I want to highlight in order to paint their pattern on the white primer. That means more masking work.
Afterwards I want to paint CDL on top untile the desired effect becomes visuable.Between the ribs I'll paint highlights ( like Des mentions)
Upper and lower wings of course will be painted differently.
The white primer might contribute to a brighter CDL look ?
Pre-painting with dark earth might contribute to a darker sheen ?

Has anyone an idea what works best

beste Grüße, Gunther

Hi Gunther,

Check this thread, Guy's W.12 is the best Trompe L'Oeil translucent CDL I've seen.
