Wife came across this, and thought it might amuse me. It did.
It is a young people's book, published in 1912 by the same people who carried on the 'Wizard of Oz' sequels. I expect boys up to their early teens before the war may well have read the this.

As you can see, the boys, and a young miss, seem to have gotten pretty far in the world....

Haha, Great stuff! The illustrations are very nice too. The black and white ones throughout the book are even better, IMHO.
