I did something I promised myself I'd never do. I just bought a WnW OOP kit (tripe) on eBay. I have justified the purchase as an early Xmas to myself and hope WnW doesn't release the kit as a duellist version anytime soon (though I think I am pretty safe). Happy to receive any admonishments from anyone who cares to give it.

No need to admonish yourself mate! :)
It's a kit you want and obviously you had the cash.
And even on ebay it's cheaper than a Felixstowe or AEG direct from WNW!
However, in an attempt to alleviate your guilt I hereby suggest the following penance.
Build the little bugger online so we can enjoy your build with you!
Wishing you an early very Merry Christmas. :D

You don't happen to be the seller, Boggie? ;-)
I keep telling myself I will get to building a kit, though a 12mo and 3.5yo and no room for a hobby desk makes it difficult to manage! :-(
Will get there one day, though!

Those kits don't lose value and they don't go out of date ;) Enjoy it in whichever way you want... this is how market works, I see nothing wrong with it...
Cheerio

It's true value will be revealed when you sprinkle your magic upon the building of the said kit!

Being silly is many things.
Buying an out of print Wingnut with 3 wings isn't one of them!
You did good ;) 8)

Look on it more as a coming to your senses!

Well done with your purchase Jim, regardless of the price and regardless if you build it or not, you now own an OOP Wingnuts kit, something to be treasured.

Jim,
It's all relative; the pleasure you'll eventually get from this purchase will far outweigh the price. Think of it as a "pleasure by the hour" deal; figure out how many hours of pleasure it will take you to build it, divide that number into the price and I'll bet you discover there's very little recreation you can buy with the resulting hourly rate!
Enjoy your new acquisition! ;)
Cheers,
Lance

Haha. No Jim. But I hope it makes you feel better to know that I bought my Tripe on ebay too! :D
