Hello folks,
here are a few photos of a WnW Snipe completed as Barker's Snipe. I made a "devil" gunsight out of copper wire to mimic the one on Kermit Week's replica.
The Vintage Aviator Ltd. website was invaluable in providing a walkaround of photos for rigging detail etc.

Having seen your work up close in Nanton last June this is no surprise to me Gary! Simply magnificent; I'm still wrestling to finish mine, it "pales by comparison", you've done a beautiful job on the Kit. The "shading" of the flying surfaces is particularly well done, I especially like the undersurface effects.
Stunning model! :o
Just wondering, have you started that Felixstowe you mentioned yet?
Cheers,
Lance

Welcome aboard Gary:
Outstanding Snipe: the upper surfaces are nicely done, not overly so, but nicley done. I like your underside treatment as well.
Look forward to your Felixstowe. ;)

From one Gary to another: what an excellent build! All I can do is echo the many very positive responses in this thread, then add my congratulations on an excellent model. Very Well Done!

Very nicely done Gary. It's easy to see that you've had no difficulties in adapting your modelling skills from building AFVs to biplanes. It's always good to see another AFV modeller on board here too.
Cheers,
Chris

Beautiful model. I really like it very much, the shading, the rigging, caster oil staining...

I'd like to thank everyone for such kind comments on my model. I truly appreciate the friendly warm welcome to the group.
Additional thanks to a fellow Albertan Lance Carroll who I'm fortunate to have met, and introduced me to the website. And unfortunately no - Lance, I have not started the daunting Felixstowe project yet!
I look forward to adding a few pics of some other projects I've completed, and also to marvel at the work posted by some of the amazing model makers who frequent this site.
Cheers,
Gary

Now that's what I call making an entrance. Bravo and welcome aboard!

I like how you did the "cock-a-snoot" Red Devil.
The figure is absolutely tiny in 1/32.
Really well done!

Thanks Dave,
It took a few tries, but I was able to get the thing bent to an appropriate size, then just gave it some "body" with a few dabs of Mr. Surfacer.

Further to my original post Gary, how about filling us in on how you built your Snipe. Paint, rigging material, rib shading technique, etc. I'm always looking to improve!
