Title: Interned Dutch DH9 B7620 colours.
Post by: drdave on October 01, 2015, 03:53:01 AM
I am going to do one of these in the interned Dutch scheme for B7620. I found this photo. WNW have the stripes as B/ w, but looking at this I would say red/yellow stripes on whitewith a yellow on red sunburst fin. Whaddya say?

My wife's unadultetated sensible view, is that the roundel on the fuselage is a paler blue and was painted because the fuselage stripes covered the old one. So the stripes are red/blue/red white matching the roundel and the tail is  a white sunburst over red.....

I agree that the stripes don't look to be simply black & white -- I'm remiss to speculate beyond that...

I agree with Bo on this one, and like Bo I will not speculate any further, I'm looking forward to your build.

De Havilland Mosquito B.Mk.VI dressed up like its great-grandmother, the Airco D.H.9. Unit: 211st Squadron RAF Serial: A, B7620 Pilot: unknown

This might be of some help, sorry for the small image size.

it definitely looks like the 2 thin strips are a dark color(could be black or red) and a light color(yellow is said to be dark on early ortho film so prob not yellow but something light maybe blue?) the over painted circle in the lower picture should be orange if its dutch.

I think the stripes in the top photo match the new fuselage roundel.
