Title: Sad news for UK airshow fans
Post by: IanB on September 29, 2015, 12:58:55 AM
I got a call yesterday from a very close friend in the UK to inform me of the passing of Brian Lecomber, world renowned aerobatic pilot and owner of Firebird Aerobatics. He flew well over 2,000 displays during his career, and won many awards including the Steedman Display Sword for best UK display at the Air Tattoo in Fairford in 1996, and the Shell Trophy for best team display at Biggin Hill and Best Overall Display at Waddington, both in 2001. I'm proud to have known Brian for many years and counted him as a friend - we shared many a Sunday evening in the local pub playing dominoes and sinking a pint or two. He will be greatly missed.

Blue skies and tailwinds my friend.....

Ian
