Hello here is my last model mounted, the Gavia's Bristol Scout :
my first idea was to show the british national marks with the red and white roundels and the union jack in the frame.
then loocking for more information about the plane in the web, I smatch with the web site of the Bremner brthers, wich were rebuilding their grand dad plane, the 1264 who flew int greece in the late 1915.

bye bye my union Jack and my red and white roundels...
Anyway the 1916 taken pics show that the new three colors roundels had inverted colors, which give it an interest …
another strange thing, in the cross and cockade n° 4 vol 5 , look what Donald tell us !

Danold was a tall man, he was 6ft 3in (1,90m) this figurine represent the right size...
speaking about the french who were in Thassos with them , Donald says :
They chief pilot was a man called Constantini, who was a very famous racing motor driver and always used to call me « le grand pilote du petit bristol »

Wow, incredible model, Xan!! You have done an amazing job with the frame model and the painting on the wings. The wings really have that translucent look that CDL has with the upper roundels being visible through the underside of the wing. Beautiful!!

Magnificent job, a very mundane Kit transformed into a beautifully detailed Model. The overall CDL finish is very well done, great shading, a bit of wear and tear, and the transluscent upper wing with the upper roundels showing through are stunning. A real tribute to your skills, Xan! 8)
Cheers,

From the builders of the full-size 1264. We are absolutely blown away by the model - she looks quite, quite stunning. What an artist you are, Xan. I hope we can meet up soon and see the model. We hope to bring ours to France to fly over the Somme on 1 July next year. Perhaps we could try to meet up then?
-
Xan,
truly remarkable job - especially on the clear doped linen. Great weathering in all regards, and your attention to detail is excellent.
Cheers,
Gary
