Title: LF 1/32 Spad XIII
Post by: jknaus on September 12, 2015, 02:25:46 AM
I bought one of these on EBay and just got a note that they dont really have it. Have not seen any others. Anyone have a 1/32 Spad XIII they dont want? Bought the Aviattic set for it so now need a kit.

I'll have a look through my stash, but I'm sure it's the Spad VII and not the XIII that lives in the loft  ;)

Title: Re: LF 1/32 Spad XIII on ebay now

The 1/32 Spad XIII will be Hobbycraft HC1687 or HC1688. If it's Roden, it's a Spad VII. The HC Spads are like the "new mold" 1/32 HC Camels (Le Rhone & Clerget): nothing better 'til WnW produces one.

There's one (HC1688) on ebay right now: $45.29 with free shipping from the UK. . .

i may have a spare hobby craft spad xiii .going to have to check when i get the chance. its a nice kit for the most part. the biggest drawbacks are the cockpit which the control panel and throttle as well as a few other odds and ends need to be upgraded. i scratch built replacements for the control panel and throttle and cast them but alas my mold is worn. it has been my intention to re-do the master so that some of the smaller parts were cast separate. there was a thread on the defunct gwia forum that showed a guy using my resin parts in his pit but like i said you cant get to them anymore. give me a few days and i will let you know.
