Hello there!!!!
So, Im back home but not fully behind my work bench which I intend to return after 22/08/2015...however I would like to ask for any pictures of interior of this magical bird so I can add some more details ot it. Works will go on on my Fokker too and I will try to do "speed" build even though I know Im pretty slow and will probably have to finish it when I move oversees.
I started today by cleaning some parts but leaving on Sunday again as I have some visa interview in Vienna so I dont want to get too much into it. Im just adding my intended camouflage scheme. Again, 1/48 is not my major scale in great war but since Im waiting for halberstadt to be realase by wnw (note: wishfull thinking) I will try to put this one into my collection before that happens :)

I already ordered some goods from Aviattic, will be using HGW seatbealt and resin engine - both provided by Hellboy (Libor Muzik) and hopefully practising some (small) schrathed parts.
Im very excited to share another of my builds with this forum and its members...God, I missed this forum so much!!!!

Good choice, Lukas! I'm looking forward to following your progress. I built this one a few years back and absolutely loved it. I did Brunhilde.

Hi guys!!!
Great to see your support even before building the plane itself. Today I'm practising mottled camouflage using Drooling Bulldogs paints before I get into cockpit and also ordered new gun barrels from Master :)
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah126/lukaskasuba/Mottled%20camo%201-1393_zpstm2r2huj.jpg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/lukaskasuba/media/Mottled%20camo%201-1393_zpstm2r2huj.jpg.html)
It is just piece of plastic that Im using for trying new things. Picture is very zoomed in so surface looks very rough... should be smoother on fuselage when doing final version :) What do you think? Too rough?

Looks like original, Lukas.

Lukas,
Looks just perfect to me my friend. Pardon a stupid question but what are these Drooling Bulldog paints?

Hello guys!!!!
So Im officially working on 2 projects... Im slowly getting into Halberstadt too... here is what Ive done yesterday...
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah126/lukaskasuba/Halberstadt-2637_zpsyxibua5e.jpg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/lukaskasuba/media/Halberstadt-2637_zpsyxibua5e.jpg.html)

I added some details that I lost during heavy sanding and now Im on to painting middle segment with wood surface and then some mottled camouflage... At this stage Im excited for even finishing top wing :D

Very great update, Lukas.

Here is how I managed the middle bit on top wing... not ideal but I believe It will look better with Lozenge decals next to it ;)

I think it looks quite like the characteristic Halberstadt stipple camo Lukas. Very convincing. My only comment is maybe it is not dense enough?
-
Thanks a lot Bo!!!
I think It might be the picture... It looks more dense in reality... I didnt want to over do it. Luckily I can add extra when I have Lozenge around :) Im still just practising for future WNW Halberstdadt :D

Really nice work on the scrumble! Looks good to me!

Lukus,
I will chime in and second Bo's opinion. Perhaps it does need to be a bit more dense. I am very interested in your technique for stipple camouflage.Would it be possible to get more information on just how you applied the stippling? Outstanding decalling the wing as well. Keep up the your high level of excellence my old friend.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
-
Excellent application of the stipple camo Lukus, I think the lozenge beside the camo will make it look extremely good.
Des.
-
Thanks Gregory and Des for your comments!!!!
Gregory, Im going to decide if that needs more when I apply top lozeng and will see the effect... It might be quite valid opinion that it should be more dense ;) Also, I will send some pictures wit stuff that Im using later today ;)
Cheerio
Lukas

Very good Lozenge work.

Hello again!!!
Thanks Martin for your positive comment!!!!
Here is today in one picture...and thanks Bo and Gregory - I actually added more paint on the top of the wing - CHEERS!!! ;)
(http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah126/lukaskasuba/Halberstadt-2741_zpsdwhyieyj.jpg) (http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/lukaskasuba/media/Halberstadt-2741_zpsdwhyieyj.jpg.html)
And as I promised to Gregory Im adding one picture with tools Im using for stippling. I have no idea what is english word for that pencil that Im using for small piece of sponge and sponge from Eduard's resin parts ripped in pieces. Then it is only about controling amount of paint in sponge - my big struggle but I guess that gets better with practise :) Hope that helps.

Bud, Im very surprised myself about quality of this short-run... only thing Im struggling with is replacing broken parts after cleaning parts - my hands are not too delicate for 1/48 WWI :)

Hello again!!!!
Good news!!! Well at least for me... my compressor arrived, I have borrowed macro lens for experiments and I got my first load of supplies here on southern hemisphere... - happy days!!!!
And at last I finally made some progress, resin engine for Halberstadt... bottom wings are in production line and cockpit is getting ready for closing fuselage.

Bud, It is crossbreed - Vector with I believe Karaya that was donated to me by Hellboy ;) then plastic and copper wire and some brass tubing...
Glad you like it, more picture soon...

Hello again!!!
Thanks Rick for positive comment ;)
So I finally managed to produce some pictures today... It only a almost finished bottom left wing (still missing some details on lower surface but that will be added when I will put all together ;) Unfortunately right bottom wing was affected by disaster - damaged lower lozenge and will be redoing bottom bit :/ that took me few days to recover... but now I think Im moving again... ;)
My try of interpretation of modified cross on lower surfaces... decal+hand painted edges...

Upper surfaces on left bottom wing... will try to get better image of the compass soon...

The lozenge and engine are excellent.

Hello guys!!!
Thank you so much for you comments and sorry for my rather late reply. Im back in CZrep until the end of February so now all my projects(Fokker EV, Halberstadt and SE.5) are on hold. But I managed to start some (hopefully) quick ones back behind my old workbench (WW2 Sub and will be starting WWI Whipet from Meng soon).
Great work ,what is your subject aircraft?
I believe it is Jasta 27b - but not 100% as I have my materials over in Sydney, but will get back to you with that. Im sure that this aircraft was carrying "thea" on its tale :)
Marvelous job on detailing the engine Lukas . Wings are shaping up nicely as well .
Terri
Thanks Terri, well wings were shaping nicely up until disaster strike with bottom left wing - I had to strip off entire wing and thats what put this build on hold for bit as I had to get over it :/ But Im certain that I will finish this bird eventually unless that "horrible" thing happens and WNW actually release one :D
The lozenge and engine are excellent.
Thank Toby! What wouldn't you do for things no one will ever see when they finished, right? ;) :) And Aviattic lozenge doesn't need comments - results and work with them are always pleasure ;)
