Title: Apologies for My Absence
Post by: WarrenD on July 23, 2015, 11:15:08 AM
My apologies for dropping off the face of the earth, especially after starting a "build thread".  :-\ :-\  More being put on me at work, health issues with SWMBO and myself, the growing season with the kitchen garden, etc. have played havoc with my getting to the workbench, much less enjoying your posts. It's been frustrating enough that I've seriously considered getting rid of the stash. Seems the harder I try to get back in the groove, the worse things get.

All the Best!

Warren

Well welcome back, Warren....the place just hadn't been the same without you.

Sorry to hear about the health issues....will keep you both in our good thoughts.

"STEP AWAY FROM THE STASH". Just ease back in, Pard, and stop those foolish thoughts.

Cheers from NYC,
MIchael

Warren,
When or if "real life" gets in the way of the work bench activities just shut down and participate as a passive member, don't sell your Stash and leave. Your Membership is valued here, it doesn't need an active Build or continued purchases to add value to all of our experiences here. You are among friends and your continued presence  and, even if only occasional inputs, are appreciated.
Hang in there, my Man, it only gets better! 8)
Cheers,
Lance

Glad to see you back Warren, you have been sorely missed. I think we all go through periods in our life where life itself becomes overwhelming and all else fades off into the backgound, hang in there Warren, I'm sure your modeling mojo will return one day but in the mean time, just look in every now and then and say hi.

Des.

Hello Warren,

It is so good to hear from you again and I do hope that the health issues you allude to can be resolved. Life can throw things at us and it all puts our hobby into perspective.

Maybe these things go in cycles and that you will soon rediscover your zeal for building. Whether or not this happens your ideas and views will always be valued here.

Best wishes
Nigel

Nigel said it for me. :D  Very happy to see you back, Warren.

Hi Warren,

sorry to hear about your current situation, but maybe the following sentences can provide a little bit of help.

I found myself in a similar situation several years ago and was also about to quit building kits as well as many other things making my life brighter and felt completely down without any light at the end of the tunnel. This is absolutely normal and happens to everyone. By that time my uncle (who was like father to me) helped me by mentioning two "rules" (sorry, I do not know any better expression for that):

- all battles can be won, but not all can be won right now
- it is no shame to be brought down to your knees, it is a shame not to get up

I am not a native speaker so I hope these words come across the way they are meant. To put it simply, hold on and give it time. I am very glad to have met the great guy using the nick WarrenD who has been showing his excellent craftsman skills on his builds and whose comments on my build threads have always been so pleasant and encouraging.

As soon as the time is right and you feel fit again, I am looking forward to following your builds, until then, I will be happy about you looking into this forum and just saying hi.

All the best for you and if I can help you any further, feel free to contact me any time. ;)

Cheers

Ondra

Thanks for your support pards, y'all are a wonderful, supportive bunch. FWIW, we spent most of today down at Vanderbilt Medical Center, got some news on SWMBO's health issues. Not what we wanted to hear, but we'll just deal with things as they come.

I really appreciate everyone's encouragement, and Ondra, your words came across great and exactly as intended.

Warren

I think that we can all empathise with you. I came back to modelling because life threw some pretty massive boulders at me - all at once and completely unexpected. I still have periods when I am not sure whether what I do is worthwhile but somehow I keep going and feelings change. Modelling is a form of escape for me at times and the positive comments that I get from this forum mean a very greta deal. Your comments have always been appreciated - I just hope that ours will help you through a difficult and trying time.

You and your wife are in my thoughts.

Stephen.

 Warren,
Greetings and Well Wishes from a fellow recent returnee my friend. I so sorry to read of your wife's and your health issues. Issues such as this can really turn our worlds on end, believe I know. I truly wish there were some magic words I could pass along to you to make things better for you and yours but I have none. What I can share with you is what helped me through my health issues . My Faith has always been my main anchor This is why I walk when I was told I wouldn't,why I see when I was told I wouldn't and why I can speak when I was told I wouldn't.  I will pray for you and yours my friend.

Highest Regards
Gregory Jouette

Thank you all very much for your words of encouragement, they are a balm, believe me. My Faith has been sorely tested these last six years or so. I draw comfort in the fact that by being a Doubting Thomas, it at least means I've still got a shred of something, right? :)

I got the sad news today that a co-worker was killed this weekend, perhaps even murdered. Boy, work has been bad of late, but this just throws it in the ditch!

You sure don't leave work on Friday evening expecting there to be one less of you there on Monday morning!

Counting my blessings,

Warren

Warren,

I have just read your last post. That is truly shocking. Sudden losses like that are something that none of us want - you need it less than most at the moment. My thoughts are with you and your co-workers family and friends.

Stephen.
