Title: German winter coat color?
Post by: iwik on July 23, 2015, 12:14:13 AM
Hi y'all!
We often see pilots wearing (not for flying purpose) long overcoats with a fur collar.
Any idea what the color of those coats is?
Thanks

dark brown or black would be my guess. there werent all the multicolored leather dyes back then, plus it was a more basic necessity thing not fashion. these werent issued by the military, pilots bought there own. richthofen wore an old beat up coat that he considered to be his lucky coat.
